BIG NEWS RE: The Spring Southern!!!

Post by TOOL MAN »

Comrades,

The AHFCA will have an official presence at this year's Spring Southern, April 28-30th at Deep River Shooting Club in Sanford, NC. Stay tuned for more news to follow.
On the whole....I'd rather be in Philadelphia....

Wonderful news. At which hotel will most Fox men be staying? I'd like to book a room right now.

Stan, I hope the planting weather cooperates this year and you can make it; I'd like to meet you. Many of the Fox men are also in the PGCA and the Parker folks have a rate at the Hampton there in Sanford. Also, there's a gang that concurrently does a lot of shooting at Drake's Landing that's about 30 miles away, and some of Parker folks have a rate at the Comfort in Fuquay Varina NC. I'll decline to post the rates here as they were negotiated by the Parker folks. The friendly shooting at Drake's is great but kind of repetitive for multiple days (JMO) and if it were me I'd book at the Hampton because it's much closer to Deep River via a shortcut, and also it's easier to get together for Foxy discussions in the evenings while dining nearby or at the hotel. Ha

I will have a room at the Hampton, maybe we can arrange a Fox get together after dinner Friday evening. I will see about booking a meeting room if there is enough interest. Craig

Room booked at the Hampton for 3 nights, arriving on Thursday about midday. Anybody going to be shooting at Drakes Landing Thursday afternoon?

Good deal Stan. Just my experience, the shooting at Drake is hot & heavy on Thursday morning but it kind of tails off after the excellent lunch (extra cost) as gents get tired and some of them head over to Deep River and the Southern SxS to help vendors set up. Smithshady (Mike) is a good contact on the Drake Landing shooting; you might send him a PM to see who will be there from day to day.

I plan to see you and Julia there too, Mills. My Smith should be back in time to try and make the Smith team. I'm having a bit of maintenance done on the stock head.

My best, SRH

IIRC the rate at the Quality Inn in Faquay-Varina was $69/night compared to $99/night at the Hampton. There will be lots of shooting at Drakes all day Thursday as nothing is really going on at Deep River.
