Nimrod Classic

Post by Researcher »

Beautiful Montana blue sky for the Nimrod Classic at Big Sky Sporting Clays near Polson this weekend. Your humble scribe didnot distinguish himself on the shortschuckers small gauge pump gun event!!! Better things tomorrow with the Fox-Sterlingworth Skeet & Upland Game Gun!

Well Sunday turned out to be incredibly windy, and the wind didn't blow many of the targets into my shot!!!

Here are some pics of the Fox Collectors display at The Nimrod Classic.

Very cool display!! Neat idea to have all of the Ansley Fox guns together. Did you run into any AHFCA members?

There must have been at least a dozen shooters using Ansley H. Fox doubles in the Nimrod Classic on Sunday, but no one introduced themselves to me as a member. On the way into Polson on Friday afternoon I got a phone call from a member that lives north of Wilber, Washington, near Keller Ferry on Roosevelt Lake, the impoundment behind Grand Coulee Dam. Said he has English Setters, and when he saw my picture in the newletter had to give me a call. He knew my girls bloodline right off. My stack of membership applications went down by six and one was returned to me with a check which I got in the mail this morning.

To the Fox apostle of our NW

Post by robt. harris »

My personal 'Thanks' to David Noreen for attending our 'Nimrod Classic' for the fourth straight year based out of Polson, MT. We genuinely appreciate your time and commitment in bringing over your lovely Fox guns for the weekend, Dave, and sharing them with us - as they are truly worth seeing!

Though our shooters do use a number of Foxes out here, we are probably a bit low on the collector's curve when compared to the east coast fraternity. But be patient, as we do come around eventually.....

Best Wishes & Thanks once again,

Sorry I missed that I was in the Red Desert chasing wild horses.
When will it be next year? I will pencil it in as soon as I know.

Birdawg,

It has been happening on the weekend after the Mother's Day weekend....which is Nat'l Armed Forces Day. Check out this link for contact info, and I will try to get a few additional pictures up as time permits.
