That seems like a great early gun. I am glad someone here got it.

If I had not spent so much cash lately I would have jumped on it when I had the chance.

I hope it is even better in the hand for you!

Are you looking for a factory letter from Savage or a copy of the factory card from AHFGCA?

Funny. This morning I stopped by "Fieldsports" to inspect a 16 ga. AE with 26" barrels that was listed on GI, but I was told that it sold yesterday. Their AE was "2nd generation" so I'm guessing that you bought a different one. A 16 ga. AE would be sweet. Good for you.

Can't wait to see the AE two barrel set. Sounds like a great gun.

WLM...removed the listing so we can't see any info or pictures from their listing. When I called them about the gun they told me that the 30" barrels were added add some point by Savage and numbered to the gun, the 26" set of barrels had the chambers opened at the same time and factory stamped to that effect. The wood may have been up-graded as well, it looks to be D grade checkering and modern dimensions? The 30" barrels have the long beaver tail for end and all checkering matches and looks to be all done at the same time? It has a recoil pad and I will want it changed out to black. leather covered type, I think it looks much better. The 26" barrels have twin ivories and splinter for end. The gun looks sleek with the 26" barrels in place! I think the weight was 6lbs-1oz and 6lbs -10oz 30" The gun should come any day now and I will check her out and post some pictures.
