I was able to add two this year (so far) a very nice 20 gauge Sterlingworth Brush Ejector shipped late in November of 1929.It has 26" barrels and Imp.Cylinder and Modified chokes.Later in the year I picked up a 1911 Sterlingworth Standard pin gun.30" barrels choked Full and Full.It was shipped towards the end of March 1911.Sold an Early B-12 gauge to help pay for the 20 Sterly. Also received two of what might be last of the Callahan letters on these guns. They are dated October 21st a Friday.Unfortunately,he made us all aware of his retirement on the following Tuesday.

I sold some guns this year and am down in net but I'm still a sucker for honest-interesting Foxes that come out of the woodwork. One I scored is a 3-inch Super-Fox with some hunting wear, no abuse, all original and "never a screw turned". 30-incher on the light side as I like them, at 8-9. Has the transitional .740" bores, chokes at 48 and 50 points and the back side of the record card has heavy pellet counts. Good stock dimensions to its hard rubber buttplate. Shipped 90 years ago tomorrow directly to a named gent and I'm still doing some study on him. It's nice to dig out the story if you can on an unmolested gun. She turned some heads using Kent TM's last month at a place where I hunted often many, many moons ago. Also did well ducking locally from our blind on an island on the Susquehanna. I have some pics but they're committed for a later time. Sorry guys.

I added a A grade 12 gauge shipped June 5, 1908. It needed some work which has been done, but I couldn't pass on it. I now have a first and second (1923) generation A grade.

Bill, Did the 32" HE that letters to Nash Buckingham's store have a straight grip?

Jim, the gun did not have a straight grip. There are many questions about this gun and I am trying to sort out the answers. This is the last, maybe the only, HE sent to the Ensley Carrigan Buckingham store before he ordered Bo Whoop. He writes about going on a Canadian hunting trip with a ten pound HE before he owned Bo Whoop. This gun has an Ellwood Epps (Ontario gun dealer) recoil pad and it was imported from Canada for the sale. This gun also weighs ten pounds, but loaded, not empty. I have some references about the Canadian trip and the ten pound pre Bo Whoop HE from his books, but have not reread them all looking for notes on the Canadian trip.

The ultimate buyer of the Ensley Carrigan Buckingham gun obviously overpaid, although it is a nice HE. The competitors in the auction may have had information about the Ensley Carrigan Buckingham connection, like I did. Or maybe they were just bidding on a nice HE. Who knows?

My tribe increased by 2. I bought Mr. Silvers' late straight grip BE and a straight grip 20g CE.

I can't stop buying Foxes. I need professional help, I think.

Since the deal is now done I can now report that I added this little A Grade 20ga. Purely a shooter; early A, 26" barrels, snap on forearm. But great barrels and locks up like the proverbial bank vault. It has a stock issue or two; I hope to get a chance with it on some Kansas quail before the season ends and then I'll be sending it to Mark Larson to work his magic.

Fin,
That looks like a nice little bird gun.
