Looking for 12 Ga. CE SN 29271

Post by jolly bill »

I am looking for whoever might own a 12 gauge CE grade Fox with Serial Number 29271.

I have a set of barrels for the gun marked "29271" over a "2". It is a 30 inch set of Chromox barrels choked Full and Full. In great condition.

I would like to see those barrels get back on the gun.

According to Bob Beach at Griffin and Howe, that gun was originally sold to James G. K. Lawrence in 1927 through A & F. Mr. Lawrence was President of the Coney Island Jockey Club back then.

I use to own 29291 a 30-inch CE-Grade with Fox-Kautzky SST. Sold it to the Hartman Bros.

"Close but no cigar" as the guy at the carnival used to say to the guy who almost rang the bell.

The chances of finding 29271 are pretty slim but got to give it a try. The current owner might want my barrels.

Thanks Dave.

Mr. Jolly - you might want to post your barrels with serial number in the " Fox Parts and Pieces, Lost and Found" section of the Fox Collectors forum.

Scaupman,

You are absolutely correct. I'm almost ashamed to say I never noticed that part of the forum.

Thanks for getting me straight and I will post my note over there too.

Much obliged.
