After my grandfather passed away I inherited a Three Barrel Gun Co gun. At the time, early 80's, I had never heard of the Three Barrel Gun Co but I recoginzed that it was a specilized gun due to the lack of a safety and the engraving. The problem was that the gun was falling apart! The matted rib was half unsoldered, the dovetailed locking lug was loose, someone had tried to make a new ejector (yes as I recall it was an ejector gun) and someone had attempted to rechecker the wood. I had the gun for a few years, was almost ready to trash it when I saw Frank Conley's book on American single barrel trap guns. I got Franks book and discovered I had a C grade gun. I corresponded with Frank and he asked if I would send the gun to him so he could photograph it in case he revised his book. I sent it to him and asked him if he knew of someone who could restore it. He recommended Maurice Mudges in upstate New York so off it went to him. About 1 year later the gun was restored and all for $$700. My recollection in talking with Maurice is that he had spare parts or knew of someone in Florida that had access to parts and factory records. I donated the gun in my grandfathers name to the ATA Hall of Fame Museum where it currently resides in the office closit. Big mistake on my part but thats another story! Does anyone know if Frank Conley is still alive? [img][/img]

Not a trap, but for a great example of a Three Barrel Gun, go to Cabelas in their American Guns section.

Waterman,
I have a Three Barrel Gun Co. Trap Gun, Serial #113. It is a B Grade. I have had it about 7 - 8 years now. Very cool gun. Straigth Grip, about 50% case color and 95% + metal. I also have several other Hollenbeck, Three Barrel and Royal Guns. It would be neat to add the gun pictured in Conley's book to the collection. The serial number on that gun is #114 which is one higher that the one I currently own. Regards - Foxnut

Was anyone at the RIA yesterday? What did the Three Barrel Gun Co. Trap Guns go for? What did the Fox SBT J Grade go for? Thanks
