With that serial number its an early 20 gauge sterlingworth made in 1912 or 1913 although it certainly could have been sold later in time. Not sure single triggers (Kautzky) were available that year in the sterlingworth although they were available later on (1914). Pictures will help us determine exactly what type trigger you have.

You need to save the pics to a hosting site like photobucket first, then copy and paste them here.

Thanks Mike
Just trying to get info on the trigger. Cant find very many 20 gauge single trigger to compare. I am pretty sure it original my father said he bought it new.He bought a 20 gauge so his brothers couldn't shoot his shells back in the day. I guess grandpa wasn't to happy either. Anyone have info on the trigger would really like to find out how many of these were made with the single trigger.
Thanks Again

It's Fox factory Kautzky single trigger mounted in the forward position, rare option on a Sterlingworth, very nice. Craig Larter

The flyer inserted in many of the 1914 A.H. Fox Gun Co. catalogues that introduced the Fox-Kautzky Single Selective Trigger --

As included in the 1915 A.H. Fox Gun Co. catalogue --

Not many people circa 1914 were springing for a $20 option on a $25 gun!! This is the first Philadelphia era 20-gauge Sterlingworth I've recorded with the Fox-Kautzky SST. If I may ask, what is the barrel length for my records? I have previously recorded an early 16-gauge Sterlingworth with the Fox-Kautzky SST.

Thanks to all for the help. The barrels are 26 inch with injectors. The reading on the triggers was really great to read I will try to get some good pics of the gun and post for all to see. Thanks Again

An interesting Sterlingworth like this gun might well be worth investing in a letter from the Savage Historian --

I have a Fox 20 gauge, Kautzky single trigger, ejectors and 26" barrels. It is a bobwhite slaying machine.

That is a nice little birdgun!

Hi Gene:

I don't know. I got a copy the factory build card from the AH Fox Collector's Association. But it does not give dates. I need to get a Callihan letter on it so I know the date.

Best,

Mike
