12ga Sterlingworth
12ga Sterlingworth
Picked up a really nice very clean 12ga Sterlingworth for 600 bucks at a local gun show. I didn't really look it over that close at the show, other than all the numbers matched. When I got it home I discovered the chamber measure just 3 7/16". It has 30" #2 barrels, not stamped 3" on the barrel flats serial # 115xxx. This number would be to early for a WIldfowl, from what I researched. Has anyone seen a Sterlingworth that was bored to shoot 3"

Your Sterlingworth definitely not factory, with it chambered to 3 7/16" . My concern would be, what did this do to the barrel wall thickness at this critical point?

Re: 12ga Sterlingworth
That sounds like somebody may have hogged it out to shoot modern 3 1/2 inch shells!! Those and a vintage Sterlingworth don't seem like a good combination to me!!
