Ejector pin gun numbers?
Found a shooter grade and it's inbound. Curious on how many were made. No idea what I am going to do with it. Will most likely at some point require a restock.

I have read here in these pages that an estimated ~ 400 or so were built.

Re: Ejector pin gun numbers?
To date I have recorded 61 Sterlingworth "pin guns" with ten of them being ejector guns. I suspect these numbers may be skewed with people more eager to report their ejector guns to me. Sterlingworth "pin gun" serial numbers run from 50000 to around 62200. We begin seeing some guns with smooth pins in the 619xx range but the actual highest serial number "pin gun" observed is 62409 that was in the Horst auction 12 June 2010. All the ejector "pin guns" I've recorded so far have been above 58900.
I guess the only way we will ever know the answer to this question would be for someone who cares enough to pay John to go through the first 12400 12-gauge Sterlingworth cards and count the ejector guns.

I'm guessing that may be a bridge to far as they say.Researcher wrote:To date I have recorded 61 Sterlingworth "pin guns" with ten of them being ejector guns. Curious of what the barrel lengths were on the 10 you recorded. Mine is 30 inches and chokes are .025 and .035 and I believe original. I'll get the serial number later this week, but think it was in the 56,000 category.

If you are keeping track of pin guns, I have :
ser # 52042 with 28" cyl/mod #4 wt barrels--the 4 wt stamp still clearly visible
