Back home from the "beauty parlor" and looking sexy. Shipped in August, 1919, to Kirtland Hardware in New York. This gun had more issues than I thought when purchased but with the always excellent help from Dewey Vicknair she's now ready for the Miss Mississippi beauty pageant. Whether I shoot a 25 or 19 a fella has to look good on the trap line and this vixen definitely makes me look classy.
No doubt about it Mike, you'll have the best looking gun on the line. Last summer a younger fellow asked to shoot my J, I traded him guns ( his is a Beretta 400 auto) for the round. He shot a 20 with the Fox and I ran em all with his gun. He thought I should get a gun like his, I told him I'd just as soon shoot a 23 with the Fox as a 25 with something else. He knew what I was talking about and just laughed. You'll find that to be the truth once you get a few rounds in with your fine looking J grade.
I read Dewey's description of the restoration. Very impressive. Thanks for the serial number reference. My Fox singles are 400,022, 400,104, and 400,176. As you can probably figure out, I am a single barrel Fox addict. The wood on your gun beats anything I have seen on a Fox single before. Congratulations. Bill Murphy in MD.
