New A Grade 16

Post by tjeep »

I just picked up a New to me A Grade 16ga straight stock. Something I have wanted for years. It also has 2 additional set of barrels that are fitted and stamped with the same serial number (303414) Original barrel is 26" double bead ivory front choked IC/Mod Chromox. Second set is 28" Special Alloy--------------Forged Steel choked xfull/xfull, no fox proof on under side of barrel. Third set is 20ga 28" and has no roll stamp on the barrel. The under side stamped with Serial number 303414 no Fox proof, engraved 2 3/4" Nitro proofed tested.

I am assuming the later barrels were left over stock and fitted to this gun? Does this add much value to the gun since they are not original barrels? Overall gun is in Very good condition and I bought it for a shooter. Just wondering how common the extra barrels were.

That is a very desirable 16 A grade with the factory straight grip stock if it has not been converted to st grip from pistol.grip. You need to get a factory card. The extra barrels are what someone would pay for them. Bobby

I have sent a request to Mr Callahan. Interested to see what the factory card indicates. The trigger guard tang is long and screw look untouched. It appears the original recoil pad has been changed to a black pad. I will try to post some pictures.

I think, I messed up the photo bucket thing and posted the entire bucket rather than just a couple pics of the new gun. It was my first time trying to post pics, sorry for all the other pics, the majority of those birds were taken with my 16 SW
