A friend of mine just scored an absolutely beautiful savage era 20 gauge sterlingworth with 32 inch pipes. It is in absolutely fantastic condition. I am extremely jealous.

I have a 1915 graded 20 gauge with 30" barrels - .615" bores with .031" constriction in both barrels. TIGHT! It will soon be IC/IM.

Wenaha;
I too have a 30", 20ga. Fox with .615 bores and it's choked .031 & .032. I like to shoot tight chokes and would never consider removing any metal from the muzzles. Try spreader loads, because once you remove that metal, it's forever. If you ever want to sell your gun it will diminish it's value IMHO. Tight chokes go hand in hand with long barrels.
Owning a Fox is not a spectator sport.

I am with Daryl, don't touch the chokes, spreaders are the answer if you want to open your patterns up. But you are a dove hunter, correct?? A dream gun for many dove hunters is a 32" 20ga with full chokes.

Daryl and Craig have it right, if it were mine I would never open the chokes on a long barreled 20ga. There are too few of them out there. Just about every Fox shooter I know is looking for a 30" (or longer) 20ga, and they are very hard to find.
