Problems with this site...

Post by Fin2Feather »

or is it just me? There was a discussion about this on the Parker site a couple weeks ago. I'm using Firefox but I can't connect to the site; it just times out. This happens both when I try to use my bookmark and also when I go to the web and try to get on "clean". If I use a proxy server I can connect, but that's kind of a PITA and I doubt it supposed to be that way. So what's up? Is it just me or are others having a problem? And what do I do about it?

I have had continual problems with this sight recently. Most notably, every time I go to the sight I have to re-login even though I have requested to save my ID and password. very frustrating.

For what it is worth and to be "helpful"....I can get in via my bookmark but can not enter the site any other way. The "recognize" feature has never worked for me as I have to log in each time. I will be the first to admit either problem may be user error although the access issue is new.

If you must log in every visit the problem is you have set up your internet browser not to save cookies. The issue is not with the site but your computer.

OK, so nobody else has issues? Or is it just that nobody cares that I do?

I have no issues other then I have to log in each time. Never have had a problem with the site actually being up and running.

Phil: I have spent hours investigating your issue. I have opened and test the web site with Microsoft Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer and both Apple and Android mobile browsers and they all work fine and there is never a need to re-log in unless the site's cookies have expired. The only thing that makes any sense to me is you have the cookies setting on Firefox turn off to do not save for the foxcollectors web site or your IP is blocking the site. If you search Firefox help you will see the instructions on how to check your cookie setting. If you can't find the instructions I will e-mail you a copy. Have you tried downloading another browser? Try downloading Chrome from Google and see if you experience the same issue. One other thing we could try and it is a very long shot is delete your registration on the site and you register to see if that resolves the issue, let me know if you want to give that a try. Other than that I have no other ideas. Sorry but that's the best I can do. I am not a computer expert and our organization does not have the resources to employ one. I know you are frustrated but I am doing the best I can. Also, my son is has a 4 year degree in IT and he has looked at the configuration of the forum and he feels everything is configured properly. He is a network tech for a telecom and see no problem from that end. So I have been working your issue in the background but I have no answers beyond what I have suggested. I feel you are being unfair stating that no one cares about your issue on both this site and the Parker site. Craig

Craig, for the record I use Google Chrome and experience no problems.

Thank you for the response Craig; I will check my computer and see if I can work it out. I posted my initial query 13 days ago, and when I didn't get any help, yes, I was frustrated. If that's unfair I apologize.
