Re: Perch-belly stocks
I don't doubt that "Perch Belly" was not mentioned on any of Mr. Manning's orders. However, he somehow made it clear what he wanted. Maybe the Fox cards are like Parker Brothers orders. They are not the "end of the story" on gun specifications. Dave, can you find the card for the GAM L Grade single barrel? Maybe that card has some more information on the "Rational Stock". I knew of the Greener mention, but didn't want to enter the conversation. The Greener mention of the "rational stock" has been discussed before on internet sites.

Re: Perch-belly stocks
Bill, it appears that you assume a perch belly stock and a rational stock of GAM guns are one and the same, is that correct?

Re: Perch-belly stocks
That is the conclusion reached by those who have studied Greener and the GAM Foxes. As I recall, Greener clearly described the curve of the top of the stock as it appears on the GAM guns.

I don't think there is any connection between a "perch belly" stock and a "Rational" stock. Two different things.

Re: Perch-belly stocks
Probably because that is what W.W. Greener or his marketing department decided to call it.
