Hidden Hollow

Last winter "Toolman" suggested that some of the new members should make it a point to attend one of the AHFCA events. So, last week I drove 670 miles to Hidden Hollow, and boy am I glad that I did! I didn't know a single person there, and yet I was welcomed into the Fox tent and I instantly felt "at home". I learned new terms like "Foxology", "Right as Rain" and I even learned the proper way to pronounce "Gough". The best part about the event was the comradery. I was surrounded by good natured, highly intelligent people that shared a common interest in fine vintage shotguns. I recommend attending one of these events and I hope that I am able to attend next year. As I can attest, you don't even have to be a good shot.

What Jeff posted is so very true. Granted, an event like the Northeast SxS can be just too far away for many, and work/budget/family commitments will always take priority. BUT with that said, those who can reasonably make an event like this will generally find it rewarding as written here by Jeff. I've also heard new attendees say so many times, comments like seeing more good SxS guns for sale in one hour than in years of going to gun shops and shows in their home areas.

Incidentally, Jeff brought his A Grade straight grip to the Northeast and several of us looked at it. Net, the short tang trigger guard sure looks right as rain on his Fox.

One way. Not nearly as far as California. However, Researcher drove from Washington. Maybe you guys can car pool next time.

Unbelievable! I just googled "right as rain" and it's actually in there. It means "perfectly fine" or "all right". It's amazing what you can learn at a Sporting Clays event.

Jeff, I spoke with Researcher a month ago via PM and he was on Kodiac Island. Dave, did you drive from Kodiac to the East Coast and Hidden Hollow?
