Thanks. I read that a pistol grip stock was an option on the Skeet & Game along with ejectors. I'll measure the barrels again. I believe they're just under 26".
If not Skeet & Game, what would you think it is?

PS. Only a letter will confirm what you have. Anything else is speculation.

While the "Drawbolt" and the "SP-Framed" Fox-Sterlingworths appear in various serial number blocks from 132xxx to the 161xxx range, every one I've seen a letter on shipped in 1939 or later. That old Lightner Library serial number chronology, which is available various places on the internet, is pretty worthless. From three decades of observing and recording Fox-Sterlingworth serial numbers and information, none have been observed with serial numbers from 143802 to 160000. Pictures of the card boxes at Savage also show this gap in serial numbers. Likewise in the 20-gauge Fox-Sterlingworth numbers there is a gap from the mid 266xxx range to 270000, and pictures of the card boxes at Savage also show this....I have a 12ga sterlingworth draw bolt gun [1437XX] that falls in the 1937 year for manufacture on most lists...but the letter says Dec 16th of 39 with shipment on May 4 of 40 with a "Mr Betz" as the consignee....Mr Callahan said he suspects since it is a draw bolt gun the consignee was most likely a Savage employee.... you never know what you might find out....but its 4 sure without a letter you find out nothing.....

I guess the letter will say for sure, but based on the info available to date I'm guessing a Sterlingworth Field Ejector (28" barrels) cut down to 26", especially if the barrels are "just under 26".whgraham wrote:If not Skeet & Game, what would you think it is?

That is going to be hard to tell....because those are almost certainly factory replaced barrels..with the Chicopee address ..
