Sterlingworth extra engraving?

Post by Deadeye7 »

Recently picked this Sterlingworth up, and it has extra engraving. Five number gun so earlier, thought it was aftermarket done, but then saw a 16Ga. six number gun on Gunbroker with IDENTICAL engraving. Seller said Fox did this on occasion. Anyone know anything about this?

would post a picture but can't figure it out???

Do you have the other pictures in photobucket?

If so. Go the the "library" link near the top. That will show you all the pictures you have uploaded

When you have a picture opened full sized in photobucket there are series of links on the right

One of them is named IMG
right click on that one. It should turn yellow and say "copied"

Then you can left click in a post here and select "paste"

The picture will link into your post

I first saw two of these fairly early Sterlingworths with extra engraving about three decades ago at a Pennsylvania Gun Collectors show at the Monroeville Mall. Unfortunately, that was before I started keeping my tables of observed Sterlingworths. That kind of left me at the time with the thought they might have been a special batch for some Pittsburgh dealer.

To post pictures here you need to load your photos unto a photo hosting site such as Photobucket.com select the picture in photobucket.com and then copy the IMG link and paste it here --

I wonder if anyone has gotten a letter on one of these from the Savage Historian?
