Hausmann's Pre-Game Notice #1

Post by TOOL MAN »

Comrades,

If you haven’t heard by now, the AHFCA and the PGCA will be sharing a 20’ x 20’ tent erected on the Bo-Whoop field at the entrance to Hausmann’s Hidden Hollow. With the Fox/Parker Challenge set for Th/Fri (June 4th & 5th)and the Bo-Whoop & Letterman long-range contest running Th/Fri/Sat (June 4-5-6th), it should be an extraordinary three days of spirited competition, camaraderie and of course, OD’ing on fine doubles!

We will have two racks available for display guns as our 2015 booth focus will be Fox SBT’s and Fox Custom guns. Please send me an email at cambo6789@gmail.com if you’d like to display a specimen or two. Remember, this is thee major AHFCA fund raising event of the year and we’re hoping to see a record number of members participating in some fashion. You don’t have to shoot like George Digweed to play! Dust off Grandpa’s Sterly and come out and burn some powder, meet fellow Fox enthusiasts and drool over a fabulous array of side by sides. Hausmann’s is a once a year treat and it sure beats the hell out of mowing the lawn!

Team Fox has every intention of keeping their unblemished win streak alive in this, the 4th Annual Fox vs. Parker Challenge, where “Philly’s Phinest” hope to make it, 4-0! Make no mistake; the Parker boys are loaded for bear and would like nothing more than to triumphantly, carry the cup back to Meriden! Let’s ensure that dream never becomes reality!
The AHFCA BOD’s sincerely hope you will make every effort to make the trip. Lock & load. See you at The Hollow!

Sent you and email. I will have both the AbbyGun and the Custom Fox 20 gauge there. One can be displayed with the custom Foxes and the other one will be on Dan Rossiters table so clients get an idea of what can be done with a Fox.

PS. Looking forward to this. Should be fun.

I'm planning on attending, but since this is my first event I'm a little unsure of what to expect. I've booked a room in Binghamton. What about food? Will there be a concession stand or should I pack a baloney sandwich?

Jeff, there's been a full service food vendor there in the past (I recommend the steak sandwich), a large eating tent, porta johns (good ones) for men and ladies, plenty of SxS guns and sporting stuff for sale in several large tents and a building, wonderful sporting clays venues mainly set for woodsy/grouse targets but with some longer ones. Also specialty shooting like our Bo-Whoop long range championship and W C Letterman SBT event. Hidden Hollow runs its Mad Jack on the skeet field and has had a flurry in the past. You won't get bored. Parking and entry both free. A Binghampton room is ok I guess but Vestal NY is closer and many participants stay there. Others stay in Montrose, Tunkhannock or Wyalusing PA. RST is "local" to Hidden Hollow and will have a big tent there with shells for sale, cash & carry. You'll save the shipping. I probably forgot some things so hopefully others will chime in.

Tool, I'll be shooting my restocked CE that's a s/n partner to one of yours, for the Bo Whoop. I'll leave it on the custom display rack if there's room.

Frank gave a good description of the great atmosphere at Hausmann's. You will not have to leave to eat during the day.

If you've never been to HHH before, it can be a little confusing getting there.

If you plug these Lat, Lon coordinates into you GPS, it will put you right at the intersection of State Route 4015 and Flynn Road. Flynn Road runs east from SR 4015. Ernie's is at the the very east end of Flynn Rd.

Lat, Lon coordinates: 41.86261, -76.05701. You might also want to plug these coordinates into Google Maps or Mapquest, etc. That will show that intersection and you can check out the road to HHH.

You'll see a road off to the left that leads to a stone quarry. Keep to the right thru the woods and you end up in Ernie's parking lot.

Thanks for all of the help. I just checked my reservation and sure enough, I'm staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Vestal NY so I should be okay. Is it all right to bring 2 Miller Lite's for after shooting hours or is that frowned upon?

Sorry, but as bad as it is, Utica Club is the official beer of the A.H. Fox Collectors Association, Inc.

Mr. Marshfellow gave me my first Utica Club Beer at my first Hausmann's event several years ago. What you need to do is keep an eye out for some "Brooklyn Handicap", as I hear some might be floating around. :D

Jeff, if you bring a few beers for after the shooting is done you'll be in good company!

Jeff,

The only thing we may frown upon is that you're only bringing two!! :( (Après shooting of course.)

Let's hope that Mr. Marshfellow can "dig up" some Utica Club Lite. Made from Schultz and Dooley pee!

I am so confused. I have 5 Foxes( 3 16's, 1 20, and 1 12) and 5 Parkers-3 16's and 2 20's. I belong to both organizations and enjoy them bothh--cant figure out who to shoot for. You are right, I don't think 'I've ever gone the same way twice to Ernies--I will try the lat/long coordinates

3BDs, if you want to shoot for the winning team then I'd say to bring the Fox guns. If you just want to shoot and don't care about winning, then bring the Parkers. Either way you'll have fun.

Shoot the lightest and best designed guns. Hence, leave the Parker's home.
