R.I.P.

Post by ParkerBoy »

Just wanted to inform everyone that my life long friend and fellow Fox collector Joe (known here as jakl) past away Monday at the age of 45. Joe and myself joined the Fox Collectors Association around the same time. Joe was a true Super Fox enthusiast amassing a collection of 4 Super foxes among other fine foxes. There was something truly special about sharing a passion like doubles collecting with a life long friend I knew since a child.

Joe always appreciated the knowledge and candor of the Fox boards and other members we were beginning to meet at SxS events around PA. Somehow I just know (for me) collecting these gems will not be the same without my friend to share them with. You guys know the uncontrollable grin your friend gives you when he shows up for a shoot with a new double? When I saw that I always knew he was going to trump me with a Super Fox. He will be missed.

Parkerboy, thanks so much for posting this very sad news. I met Joe a few years back at the Central PA shoot at Blue Ridge. Yes, Joe had a keen interest in Supers and I measured two for him then and we talked at length. I came away with the impression he was one of the good guys. Later we PM'd a few times on things, he told me about his business and we discussed a Super he was interested in. And over time I learned that my first impression of Joe was so very true. My most sincere condolences to Joe's wife, children and family. I am so sorry for their loss. And also for yours and ours. Let's have faith that the Master will have Joe talking his passion with Becker, Buck, Askins and the others.

PB,
Appreciate you informing us of this very sad news. On behalf of the Fox BOD's, allow me to offer my sincere condolences to Joe's family and friends. Every day is indeed a gift and far too often we take that for granted. As you stated, the "Fox hunt" is exponentially more gratifying when you can share it amongst a cadre of like-minded souls. That camaraderie is what we're all about.
Impossible to put a price tag on it!
On the whole....I'd rather be in Philadelphia....
