Fox X Grade

Post by arcmaster »

Wanted to show the group some pictures of my X Grade Fox Pigeon gun. The gun was ordered with very particular specifications. No choke, extractors rather than ejectors and 32 inch number one barrels. The only thing that is disappointing is that the stock was cut somewhere along the line. Originally it was 14 3/4 inch and over time was cut down to about 14. Other than that it is a cool gun. Hope that you enjoy the pictures and I welcome any feedback from the group.

Great great gun!!!.....thanks for taking the time to post those pics. Wonderful heavy engraving and that is my favorite XE checkering style. Killer walnut.

Wow - Beautiful specimen!

You stated no chokes - that's odd for a 32" pigeon gun.

Sorry for the misinformation. The gun has no safety and is choked full and full with extractors rather than ejectors. Early morning typing and lack of coffee fog caused the problem.

thanks

Very interesting combination of features the more I look. The lovely early deep relief X engraving, the early style checkering pattern but the later long forearm. The breech balls profiled to the barrels, but no rebates or top tang screw lock screw.

Beautiful gun and setting. Ejectors are frequently troublesome. The customer knew what he wanted. I wonder if the price was discounted due to "ejector delete"? Most of us are drooling.

Thanks for sharing the pics.

Beautiful gun, arcmaster. 32" Foxes ring my chimes. In the condition yours is in, they ring incessantly. Thank you for posting the pics. I hope you shoot it and enjoy it.

Thanks for the great comments. It is a blast to shoot and really powders the clays with the tight chokes (that is when I place the pattern in the right place). They really dont make them like they used to!
