Re: Stock Pad
Most guns up to CE-Grade would get a Jostam Anti-Flinch, while XE-Grades and higher normally got a leather-faced Silvers or "Silvers type" pad. We see cards where higher grades were ordered with a Jostam Anti-Flinch. I have found cards that specify a Goodrich pad, a Perkins Recoil pad (which I know nothing about), a #6 Recoil Pad (get from Tryon), D & W Pad, Jostam Air-Cushion, Jostam Sponge Rubber pad (pre WW-I it was the Huntley pad), etc. I haven't seen a Hawkins specified until the Savage years, and very late in the Savage years we see a few Whitelines specified.

Re: Stock Pad
is the Galazan Hawkins pad close to what was offered on the Savage era A grades?
of the two pads Galazan is offering; the square slot or diamond slot , which is most appropriate to put on a Utica A Grade

Re: Stock Pad
The Jostam Anti-Flinch was the pad used most commonly on the CE-Grade and below throughout the Savage years. As I said above, rarely a Hawkins, No-Shoc, or other pad may have been specified by the customer, but the Jostam Anti-Flinch was the most commonly used pad. The Hawkins repros that Galazan sells are huge, barely suitable for a 2-frame Parker Bros.!!

Savage Arms Corp. must have bought the Jostam Anti-Flinch pads by the carload as they were the standard pad on their Stevens No. 330 and after 1936 the No. 530 doubles in the 1930s as well as the Fox-Sterlingworth DeLuxe.

I think many of us would by a lot of repro Jostam Anti-Flinch pads if they ever became available in both six-slot and seven-slot sizes.
