Re: Trap Grade at Rock Island Auction
Has anyone seen that type of grip cap on any gun before?

I have never seen that treatment on a Fox before but the workmanship appears to be top notch. Scott can't wait to droll over your new gun at Hausmanns. I was thinking of you when the gun hit the auction and I am so happy it is in your collection.

Re: Trap Grade at Rock Island Auction
I've seen quite a few nickel-silver engraved/monogramed grip caps on target shooter's guns over the years. Many of the big distributors like Simmons, Pachmayr, Brownells, etc. sold them. I very much doubt that gun left Utica with that grip cap. Looks post WW-II to me.

Ditto. Looking forward to seeing you and your new prize at the Northeast SxS. Might be just the ticket for Hidden Hollow's grouse targets.
