Southern SxS side event

Post by DarylC »

I'd like to take this opportunity to invite any and all Fox shooters to join a group of us at Drakes Landing during the Southern SxS April 24-27th. Drakes is a premier shooting venue with 2- 100 target courses, a great 5 stand and the nicest people you'll ever meet. The owner, Dan, sets up a lunch for us so if anyone is interested let me know so Dan can plan the menu. I think our own Craig L. is planning on joining us on Thurs., but the more the merrier. Prices are reasonable for 100 targets and a cart, no score cards, and we're planning on having friendly competitions like a doubles event, hammerguns, and hopefully a Parker/Fox challenge. We're not looking to take anything away from Deep River it's just that a group of us like to shoot alot and we can't get enough at Deep River. Please consider joining us for one day or all 3 days. I promise you it will be the highlight of your trip down south if you really like to shoot. You can post here or go the the PGCA site for more info. Hope to see some great Foxes there.
Thanks,
Daryl

I'll second Daryl's comments about Drake Landing, as it's my "home course" here in NC. If you're in it for the shooting and want to burn some powder with a great group of guys who are just shooting for fun, then don't miss out. Drake Landing is only about a half hour drive from Deep River where the Southern is held. If you can come for one day or all three, please let us know. I'll be shooting all three days at Drake Landing, and will still be spending plenty of time at Deep River in the tents looking for that next great Fox.

I am writing this for the AHFCA Board of Directors. The shooting at Drakes Landing sounds good but having the info posted in this Events forum is not an endorsement by the AHFCA. Just to clarify, shooting at Drakes Landing and at Deep River (host of the Southern SxS) are not named "offical AHFCA events" as listed in our Fox Collector Association insurance schedule. Therefore our insurance doesn't apply and it WILL NOT provide any coverage or relief from injuries etc while shooting at either location. We presume but do not know for sure that the two shooting clubs mentioned here have commercial liability insurance coverages.

The only official AHFCA presence at Deep River will be at our booth/tables under one of the tents there.
