Fox stuff on E Bay - Wow!

Post by Silvers »

I'd been watching the 1926 A H Fox Catalog/1927 Price sheet, and the 1926 A H Fox booklet "How to Buy a Gun" on E Bay. The auctions closed last night. I jumped in and out on the Catalog when it went up over my max. Maybe I'm all wet but I was surprised at the winning bids.

250201751136 Cat and Price List = $260.06, and 250201754696 booklet = $212.50.

Fox Admin and other have talked about how the days of cheap Sterlingworths are over and I agree. I suppose that's carrying over to genuine Fox memorabilia as well. Silvers

That seemed like an odd mismatch of stuff. Generally the small "Woodgrain" pocket catalogues are considered 1925 to 27 and the larger "Woodgrain" brochure considered 1928 and 29 and with a Savage paste-over 1930. I have seen the "Woodgrain" brochure without a price list go for as little as $66 on ebay. I've seen one with the Savage paste-over and their 1930 price list go for $135. One with a 1929 pricelist and a Nov 29 letter went for $173.05. I can remember when the "How to Buy a Gun" brochure was practically a giveaway, and they have usually gone on ebay in the $30 range?!?

I had two Fox catalogues on our table at Pintail Point at The Vintage Cup for considerably less, and no takers!

Looks like Fox paper is dirt cheap -- check out what the 1903 Syracuse Arms Co. catalogue just went for --
