Stock work recommendation
Stock work recommendation
I have a 20 gauge sterlingworth. It is from 1912 and from what I've gleaned from here it was one of the original guns made based on the serial number. When I bought it, it was cast "on", but I soon noticed a tiny crack at the tang. I was excited to find such a gun as I shoot left handed and I was hammering quail with it. I had the crack repaired and now the gun is cast "off" and I no longer shoot it well. Can the stock be "bent" or with the crack repair am I asking for trouble? Should I get a new stock? For either option who would you recommend for these types of repairs that won't make things worse? Thanks in advance for the feedback.
