Fox engraving pattern references

Post by gwsmith »

Other than this website and the McIntosh book - are there any other good sources that have color photos of the standard Fox engraving patterns? Interested in either books or online sources that specifically highlight engraving.

gwsmith,

Those two sources you mention are great. You also will find some dandy photo's of various Fox grades in all the issues of Double gun Journal.

The Tom Kidd authored articles in DGJ are great references, especially higher grades. The DGJ bibliography of articles and authors are now in every issue of DGJ. Very convenient and cheaper than buying the seven and fourteen year index.

The seven and fourteen year indexes do contain articles which were not in the magazines.
