REMINDER----2nd Annual Fox vs. Parker Challenge Cup Shoot

Post by TOOL MAN »

As a follow-up to my esteemed colleague SILVERS' post regarding the A.H. Fox Championship Shoot, I want to also 'fan the flames' for the 2nd Annual Fox vs. Parker Challenge Cup Shoot. All the rules and info. are below, along with some pics from last year's contest. This shoot is run as a concurrent to The American Classics Event which can be shot on Fri or Sat Sept. 27/28th at The Vintage Cup held again at Addieville East farms, R.I. . In 2012, TEAM FOX emerged victorious and we sure would like to keep it that way!! The PARKER boys I hear, have a decidedly different set of plans and want the Cup back in Meriden!!

I hear many members say they have hunting plans, family events, etc. and while there is no more passionate Nimrod than yours truly, unless you are headed to some remote locale, hunting in Sept. is one HOT---BUGGY---FOLIAGE-FILLED proposition. You don't have to blow a weekend....make an effort and attend for one day. The VC is our crowning event of the season and it only comes but once a year. We need to see some 'new blood' visiting and shooting at our gatherings. I urge all of you, who to date have been web-browsers only, to get active and join- in these festivities!! A tremendous amount of hard work and dedication goes into our calendar of events and without member support the AHFCA will sadly, wither away. Enough said. Prime the pan and we will see you in the Ocean State!

The official rules for the 2013 Fox/Parker Challenge Cup are as follows:

‘The Challenge’ will be run as a concurrent to The American Classics Event, a 50 target course which can be shot on either Friday or Saturday (or both), Sept. 27 & 28th. All Vintager shooting rules apply. Competitors are advised to pre-register for this event on The Vintage Cup shooter registration form, however on-site sign-up will also be available in the Addieville club house.

The TOP Five scores (one per shooter) from each organization will be tallied to determine the winning team. Winning team members and their respective scores will be engraved on FPC Cup trophy.

New rules in effect for 2013:

1) An FPC Cup competitor can shoot as many rounds of The American Classics Event as he/she chooses. Their top score will be used for the team tally.

2) In an effort to promote fairness, integrity and above all, good sportsmanship throughout both of these esteemed organizations; all shooters must be active members in good standing of either the AHFCA or PGCA (or both) as of Sept. 1st, 2013 in order to participate.

IMPORTANT---All shooters must turn- in their score cards to the Fox/Parker registration table before returning them to the Vintage Cup Office. Shooting ends promptly at 4 PM on Saturday in order that Fox/Parker judges can tabulate scores and notify the winning team prior to the 5 pm ESPN press conference and reception.

We sincerely hope the 2013 FPC Cup will be one for the record books. See you
at Addieville East!! Safe travels.

Warm regards,

Your AHFCA/PGCA BOD’s
