TOOLMAN's new DGJ article on "Special K"

Post by Silvers »

Let me be the first to offer congrats to Steve "Mr. Roll" for his excellent article on Jos Kautzky's personal double-trap Fox, in the new Summer 2013 Double Gun Journal. Wow, what a read on a Fox that Steve calls "Special K" !

For any fox nuts who don't take the DGJ, there's been a lot of great Fox articles in its pages over recent years. Reminds me of when I'd look and look for the the incoming issue of the DGJ back in the 90's.

The new issue of The Double Gun & Single Shot Journal hasn't made it to the Washington/Idaho border yet, but I did finally get my Parker Pages with Ad Roll's other fine article on our history. Good work Steve!!

The mail keeps moving west. My copy made it today. A very nice article about another Fox. I notice that being a jazz drummer is another of your talents. You punch a wide variety of fun tickets. The green drake hatch is winding down on the Henrys Fork so the fisherman will be leaving as well. A good time for the locals. Thanks to all who have published articles. John

It was cool seeing two great trap shooters and their guns, side by side in this edition. Very nice job on the Sousa article, Murph!!
Like Chief Brody said in JAWS: "That's some bad hat Harry...." LOL!

I finally was able to read the rest of the DGJ, and Bill Murphy and his partner did a nice job on their Sousa SBT gun article. I'm doing some research and came across this advert with Sousa wearing a more conventional hat. He's holding a double trap gun here; advert is dated 8/2/1913. Must have been unseasonably cold on July 22 - with JPS wearing a coat and hat - or maybe this was a pic already in the AF files.
