Info needed

Post by mommybear1961 »

I know very little about guns but my family owns a Fox that my great-grandmother owned in the early 1900's. The serial number on all the parts is 2178 A. Anybody know anything about how much this gun would be worth, or where we could take it to have it appraised? I live in SE MN. Of note, the barrel was "sawed-off" due to some kind of defect. It's still within legal limit for length, I guess. At least that's what my brother says. I'd appreciate any info anyone can share with me. Thanks much.

Everything was good until the 'sawed off' part. Many experts more qualified than I here, but that sawed part kills pretty much kills the value of the gun, Sorry.

Opting for the "glass half-full" approach, at least you now have "The Finest Home Invasion Defense Weapon in the World!!"
On the whole....I'd rather be in Philadelphia....

What they were sawed off to would be important to know.

Yup, make certain that the barrels are at least 18". Anything shorter and you have a legal problem! If too short do not tell us. Separate the barrels from the receiver by a mile or two... :D

Hopefully the barrels are not too short!
