I collect US classic doubles to include a few by Ansley H. Fox. Since Fox never made any 10 gauge guns I acquired the Fox answer to long range fowling.
A Fox HE “Super Fox" came available at a good price but it needed a complete restoration. The head of the stock was an oil sponge and there were a few spots on the action that were pitted. Overall though the gun was salvageable. Brad Bachelder of Grand Rapids Michigan restored this Waterfowling Wonder to the condition fitting a fowl weather veteran of many, many seasons. Brad "leached" the oil from the original stock and forend, recheckered, and refinished the wood averting the need to restock this HE.
Very nice job bringing the ol girl back to outstanding condition! It's nice to see someone willing to spend the money to make her look like new and function that way also! Bill
Mark dropping down to a 12 ga is like the rest of us dropping down to a 28. You should see him swing those big 10's. Your motto ought to be " Go big, or go home".
Great shooting with you at the Eastern, and I am working on making it to Hausman's.

I have an Uncle in law thats got a nice old Fox HE 12 . It was a family gun as well as I can remmember . His grandfather had the HE a 12 AE and a 20 AE I think .
And of course they got divided between him and his brother . Anyway they were originally from Sumter South Carolina and the HE resides in Houston now !
Think my UIL used the HE to kill a decent gobbler in Albermarle County Virginia back about the time he and my auntie got married that would have been 1977 or so !
I've been trying to get that gun away from him for well over 30 years and he's yet to agree . He has a son in LA thats not a hunter by any means . But My cousin does like having things that are family related .
