Here is another one. I don't think I could get tired of holding all these Super Foxes. This is the only one in the bunch marked Barrels Not Guaranteed See Tag. Again I have edited the serial numbers so if you have any questions just PM me. I truly look forward to hearing any comments y'all may have.
All the best,
Jonathan

Hmmm.... What is with the numeral 2 under the serial number on the watertable? We'd expect to see that on a the barrel flats of a 2nd set of barrels, but on the watertable? Did someone send a gun's second set of barrels back to the factory and have a stock and receiver made for them? We've seen such a thing with an XE-Grade 16-gauge two-barrel set, where an extra AE-Grade stock and receiver was ordered to fit the number 2 set of barrels, The Double Gun Journal, Volume Six, Issue 3. Or, is that a number Burt Becker applied when he restocked the gun? Sure looks like the same font as the first digit of the serial number.
Dave: I believe the photo software just dropped in that 2 below the serial number---I do not believe it exists---just a plain straight serial number. Craig

Hey guys. The serial number is 290xx with 2 centered below it. This is present on the barrel flats, action, and fore grip. The serial number found on the tang does not have the extra 2.
Jonathan.... Craig isn't the only one being killed by all these wonderful Foxes. Thank you again for sharing with us. As Dave mentioned, that numeral "2" under the serial number on the frame bar is very unusual. At least I've never seen it before. Again, I see a Becker style fancy back frame. Also, the tail on the trigger guard tang is atypical for a factory straight grip Fox. I don't see a Fox Proof/oval stamp on the barrel flats.. looks like this gun took a side trip at the factory? Gun also has a Jostam Hy Gun pad, reportedly Becker's favorite.
If you have access to a caliper, Jonathan, you might measure across the fences (breech balls) at their widest point. A #0 heavy frame will measure about 2.420" plus/minus about .005". And a regular 12 gauge #1 frame will measure 2.350" plus/minus .010". Some of these Supers you posted seem to have been "made light" on the #1 frame = way cool.
Craig, this isn't HE 29018... I know where that one is. Unless this is 29018 #2 (duplicate frame number?)

Hi Frank,
Thank you for your kind words and valuable information. I will measure them when when I have a chance. From my notes I have with me both barrels are marked with 0. It its very hard to see in the photos and even in person. If you look very closely you can see the very light strike of a 0 in the photo.
I am not trying to hi-jack this thread, but it is not uncommon to see a 2 centered under the serial number on the receiver watertable of a factory ordered two barrel set. Here's a photo of the watertable of a Fox XE that was ordered as a two barrel set:

I agree. It is seen on the CE two barrel set I posted recently. What confuses me is why would they have numbered the receiver with the 2? On the CE only the barrel and fore grip are marked with the 2.
Bert Becker influences all over this gun, stock, forend and checkering layouts look like his work as does the action filing. And Nash's favorite recoil pad! WOW!
