Savage Fox BSE

Post by Kev R »

I have a Savage Fox BSE in 20 gauge with the serial number of D960712 and wondered if anyone knew when this firearm was manufactured.
Any other info on this firearm would be welcomed.

My guess is 1952. This board is primarily the A.H. Fox design guns prior to 1940 and not the Savage/Stevens style guns including the Model B. You might be able to find more discussion about that model at shotgunworld.com

MilRob thanks for the feedback and info. I realize that this firearm is not an original Fox, but I bought this Savage Fox to be my go to gun for everyday use on quail and pheasants (but to still have the look and feel of an original). My intention was to take some pressure off of my A.H. Fox which is a real nice Sterlingworth from the early '30's that I can now use more sparingly.
