OT---Connecticut still buried..........

Post by TOOL MAN »

Thought you Southern boys might get a kick out of these. We 'Nutmeggers" are some very tough stock but this storm hit us square in the "chestnuts". On par with The Blizzard of '78, however that one struck on a weekday and everyone went to work/school as usual, then were stranded on the roadways. It has been 24+ hours and still no sign of the plows. Just nowhere to push it!! Had a few hunting buddies call me from surrounding towns, saying they received as much as 37"!! Always amazes me that despite all of our hi-tech gadgetry, when Mother Nature says "SIT", your arrss is gonna sit!! Doubt my 4-WD pick-up would make it out through this. ---TOOL

This old Georgia Redneck could not live in those conditions! Wish we could get three or fours inches as the ground is very dry in my area! Bobby :D

We can't catch a break here in the Central Plains. Rain and storms to the south, blizzards to the north and east and here it is dryer than a popcorn fart with 50 mile an hour winds.

Wow!!! Only seen that much snow once and that was in the mountains of CO. Lots of rain here today in the Heart of Dixie.

Tool, is that the trail you made so you could walk to the curb store for some RCs and moon pies?

Tool,

Our sincere sympathies. That's a lot of snow. Hope you and everybody out that way get back to normal soon.

We were on the edge and maybe got 15 inches +/-.

With the help of my 63 year old John Deere MT and my 35 year old walk behind Bolens, we handled our 700 foot long driveway OK.

Bill,

Great pictures. Nice old Deere. How many days does it take to get your neck back to normal after looking behind you, driving in reverse, to clear that long driveway? Or do I misunderstand how that snow blower thingie operates?

Sure hope none of you has long power outages from Nemo.

Yep Stan, that's how it works. Going backward into the snow.

Doesn't seem to bother the neck any. I'm not too fussy getting our stone driveway super clean. I keep the blower an inch or two or three above the driveway to keep from getting stones sprayed all over the yard.

And hope all the New Englander's get back to 100% in a day or two.
