VINTAGE CUP----ROLL'S CALL
Comrades,
2 weeks and counting to The Vintage Cup at Addieville. No better place to spend a few days with fellow Fox enthusiasts than late Sept. in New England. Hopefully we'll be blessed with azure blue skies and crisp, dry air, delivering temps. in the high 60's to low 70's. As much as I loved the Eastern Shore attractions, I'll not miss that God awful humidity!!
For those of you who have not shot Addieville, you're in for a real treat. Like all the great shooting grounds, targets here, can go from "corporate-cushy" to "world-class", overnight. I'm confident that Jack and his crew will show us some very creative presentations,
all very hittable and fair but nonetheless, challenging. That's what separates average target setters from great ones.
For those "Foxers' who plan to burn some powder, don't forget about our A.H.Fox Championship. As always, Silvers has done an outstanding job planning this event. This is our premiere shooting contest of the season and 3 Fox shooters will leave with trophies and of course, bragging rights until 2013!!!
Additionally, the first, official, Fox vs Parker Challenge Cup has migrated from drafting board to reality. This will run as a concurrent
to the A.H. Fox Championship and there is no extra charge to participate. A beautiful, perpetual trophy has been procured and you will be hearing more details of this, early next week. Suffice it to say, the "Matrons" of Meriden are all abuzz!!
The epicenter of the weekend will no doubt, be the Fox booth, where most of our parishioners congregate. We will have some interesting Fox iron on display and indeed, it is thee spot to meet fellow addicts and talk Fox, until the wee small hours!!! We will have a rack designated for member's guns, so please feel free to bring your special/favorite Fox for all of us to see.
One final thought. The Vintage Cup has always been our "SUMMIT" event of the year. The truth is, it will only be as memorable as our members choose to make it. Without your attendance and support, all of our efforts are fruitless. So please, even if you attend just for the day......set the coordinates for Addieville East and let's show our peers that nothing, including an ailing economy, stops
"The Finest Gun Collecting Group in the World!!"
So how about a quick roll call......who's IN??????-----------TOOL

If Esquire Brooks left tomorrow he might make it in time. Mules don't move very fast.

Re: VINTAGE CUP----ROLL'S CALL
I don't want to hear any complaining about its too far!! I just drove 3000 miles from Kodiak, AK, to Newman Lake, WA, so I can catch a plane Wednesday to Boston, MA, and pick up a rental car and drive to Addieville.

Re: VINTAGE CUP----ROLL'S CALL
Wish I could be there with you guys but regrettably cannot. Hopefully after next week my life will be a lot less complicated.
BTW, below is a photo of what I have been led to believe is the Fox team for the Parker challenge, taken on a recent outing with their hammer guns. Looks like Silvers in the front row with his best Sunday go to meeting overhauls on. Any guess as to who the vision of loveliness "Cookie" is?

Great pic - I don't think those guys spent much time trying to figure out which after market chokes to buy . . . .

Re: VINTAGE CUP----ROLL'S CALL
Thanks TJ. I do need to offer an apology. The original photo I posted had one of our esteemed members excluded....on the very right with the pooch between his legs. Could this be a very rare photo of a young Researcher?

There were some curly dogs like that in Researchers family history. This from March 1934 about a dozen years before Researcher --

Re: VINTAGE CUP----ROLL'S CALL
Mike emailed to me last night that he's gonna surprise us at the Vintage Cup, and so will Bobby and a couple of buds. They're headed north this morning and I just got a cell pic of them leaving their friend's place down on the Yazoo. Too bad Mike, cat's out of the bag. I hope you don't mind me giving everyone a heads up. Looks like Mike is driving his old reliable wheels and Bobby is riding shotgun with that cool hat on. I'm not sure about their buds in the back. One of them is a standup guy for sure and a couple of names come to mind..... Hey boys, you don't need those heavy coats, it's not that cold up he'ah. Mike said they're all gonna try trading those market hunter guns for nice svelte Fox, Francotte, etc smallbores. I hope it works out for y'all.
