"A.H. Fox: The Finest Gun In The World" book
I'm relatively new to the doubles. Been researching for a few years and own a few...of which is a Fox A grade 12ga which has become my favorite gun. Ever since I got that one I've fallen in love with the foxes. Needless to say I've been doing alot of Internet reading on them and lookin at alot of guns. I found the book "A.H. Fox: The Finest Gun In The World" and was going to buy it but wanted to know what you all think of it before I do? Is it worth the money? Thanks

it was worth the money but it seems the prices have gone stupid since Mike's passing... in my opinion, if you can get the book for less than $60, its worth it... otherwise, just become a member here and read the old posts in the members section and you will gain as much or more... just my $0.02.
Cheers!

I have been looking for the same book for the last few months. The best deal I saw was $113 plus shipping. I'll keep looking, I'd like to find it for under $100. I'm in no hurry.

Keep looking guys, one will pop up. I found one online a few months ago for $30 (which I bought) in almost brand new condition. Before that, the best I had seen was $110 on a table at the Southern SxS. It was suggested to me to put a "Wanted Ad" on this site under the "For Sale/Wanted to Buy" section of this site and see if someone here wants to get rid of their copy.

McIntosh's book is OK but does not cover the technical aspects as well as I would like. I think that is time for a new book on the lines of COL Brophy's book on the L. C. Smith guns an Ed Murdulacks book on Parker guns to be written. Dave are you reading this?

I've got two. Well, actually I own two, but one is loaned out and I can't remember who has it! I got the other one a couple years ago as a promotion for re-upping in the Fox Collectors Ass'n. for 5 years. Boy, did that turn out to be a deal!
