14 days to the Northeast SxS and our Bo-Whoop Shoot
It’s 14 days and counting to the Great Northeast Side by Side at Hidden Hollow Sporting Clays in northeastern Pennsylvania. The event starts on Friday June 1, and runs through Sunday the 3rd.
http://www.hhhsc.net
Also a reminder, that our 5th annual Bo-Whoop Long Range shoot will be held there on Friday and Saturday only. Our B-W Shoot has fast become the premier long range SxS competition in the country!
So..... who is favored this year for the Bo-Whoop Trophy? Mike Campbell and George Griscom took the past honors, twice each. Both are excellent shooters. Dark Horse this year? ............. Calcutta anyone? Frank

Re: 14 days to the Northeast SxS and our Bo-Whoop Shoot
I was out near Hidden Hollow earlier this week and got this pic of a chopper carring seismic testing equipment from place to place. Lots easier than humping it overland. Those of you coming to the Northeast SxS will be seeing things like this, gas drilling rigs in operation, etc.
Again, if you don't have a hotel room booked as yet, it's time to get in gear! See "Accomodations" tab on the Hidden Hollow website link shown above. Frank

The Northeast SxS Shoot at Hausmann’s Hidden Hollow during June 1 – 3 is by far my favorite shoot! This is because:
1. There I met many of the Parker Association regulars.
2. I also met many Fox, Lefever, and LC Smith aficionados!
3. The course is much like grouse hunting in my native Pennsylvania!
4. One pays as they go. There is no inordinate entry fee or any parking fees.
5. Lots of vendors who desire to move their inventory!
6. I come home every year with a new gun, new friendships, and great memories!
I hope to see you there!

Bo Whooping!

Smoken...

Lots of friendly vendors looking to make a deal

Parker guys checking out the Fox guns.

The Fox Guys who do all the work!

Our Smith cousins

Dean and Dave Parker

Lefever

Lots of action!

My Parker brothers

Yours truely complete with ugly sun hat and restored Super Fox. I didn't hit many targets that round but the ones I did vaporized!!!

My Minnesota friends flew to Hausmann's!!! Come to Huasmann's where no one's attire is considered strange!

Mike Koranda of Minnesota. Admit it, how long has it been since you smiled like that? All it takes is a couple days with your Fox family!

Okay you undecided folks. Take a couple days off and have a well-earned mini-vacation with a hundred new friends that you will definately not meet unless you join us!

Nah, the RST shell plant is only a few miles away from Hidden Hollow, no need for an ammo drop by the chopper. But rumor has it the Fox gang from NW New York are considering it for the goodies and cold beverages after shooting closes down for the day. Yep the U.C. will keep cold, high up.

SOME UPDATES:
I talked with Hidden Hollow owner Ernie Hausmann today and he told me he’s going to split the courses on Friday and Saturday. Subgauges will be set up on the hill, and 12 and 10 bore will be down at the pond level. The Main Event on Sunday will be on the hill and down below. He’s doing that to speed up the shooting, so there should be few backups due to the volume of shooters.
He asked me to remind those who want to rent a golf cart..... contact Ernie as shown on his website. Don't wait till the last minute!
I will be putting together the road directions for a shortcut of sorts, for those coming from the South and West. As soon as I get some time. Anyone interested, check back on this thread in a few days. Frank Silvers

Re: 14 days to the Northeast SxS and our Bo-Whoop Shoot
Local shortcut directly to Hidden Hollow for those driving in from the south or west (Scranton, Wilkes Barre, Dallas, Williamsport areas). This is a diagonal which will avoid a longer right angle route by driving through Montrose.
Use your GPS or old fashioned roadmap to Tunkhannock, PA
At the center of Tunkhannock (traffic light), take Route 29 N for 15.1 miles to the village of Dimock, turn left at the blinker light and proceed on SR 3023 toward Elk Lake
After 3.3 miles you will come to Elk Lake Corners (4-way intersection with blinker light). Continue in the same direction, straight though the 4-way intersection.
Proceed 9.2 miles to Stop sign, turn left on Route 706 N
Drive 1.0 miles to the village of Lawton, turn right onto Route 267 N. Note: Flynn’s Stone Castle and Gulf gas station are at the turn in Lawton, good place for munchies, deli foods, ice for coolers, soda pop, etc.
Drive 1.9 miles from Lawton on Route 267 N, watch for left turn onto Irish Hill Road SR 4015
Proceed 0.7 miles on Irish Hill Road and bear right at the “Y”
Continue 3.2 miles, watch for beaver pond on the left, turn right onto Flynn Road (dirt road - Hidden Hollow sign on that corner).
1.3 miles to the end of Flynn Road

Decent weather coming up.... here's the area forecast from today's paper:
Friday - high 71, low 53, mixed sun and clouds, , thunderstorms possible
Saturday - high 67, low 50, same conditions as Friday
Sunday - high 70, low 50, mostly sunny
As usual, our Bo-Whoop shooting butt will have a canopy for sun and rain.
