Here's your reminder that the Great Northeast Side by Side will be held < one month from now, and those members still needing a room should get in gear, or you'll probably be disappointed or have to drive many miles to the club! Gas drilling is going on hot and heavy in this area, and with supply and demand what it is, rooms must be booked well in advance and prices have gone up. Check the Accomodations tab on the Hidden Hollow website for a list of hotels and B & B's. Montrose PA is the closest large town, and if nothing's available there.... those coming from the north should be looking for rooms in the Vestal NY area, and from the south in Tunkhannock PA (farther away) and Clarks Summit PA (much farther away).

For those coming from the south..... if you totally strike out there's a new Hampton in Tunkhannock that isn't on the HH website as yet. I stopped there yesterday and checked on prices. The rooms are $149. on Thursday, $139.00 on Friday & Saturday, and $159.00 on Sunday. I presume but don't know for sure if they offer AAA etc. discounts. The gal there told me she had rooms available for early June, as of yesterday. There's a good sit down restaurant right next door, and several others in walking distance. Phone 570-996-5866. Yep the rate is steep but it's a nice new place and maybe you can split the cost with a friend.
However with all that said the very best location is Montrose PA if you can find anything there at this time.
So, why should you come to an event like this? Besides all the course and field shooting with 100% SxS guns, we're running the Fox Collectors's Bo-Whoop Long Range shoot on Friday and Saturday (June 1 & 2) with substantial purse payouts to five (5) shooters, and bragging rights for the Bo-Whoop perpetual trophy to the highest score shot with an A H Fox gun. You'll also find plenty of shooting on courses and fields (Mad Jack, flurry, etc.) Those who are looking to sell, trade or buy good SxS guns will find plenty there on dealer's tables and with walk-ins, however expect to see less guns than at the Southern or the Vintage Cup. But keep in mind, this is about mid way between the old Phila and Utica factories, and Foxes are perhaps more heavily distributed here than in other sections of the country. RST is always there with bells on, and you can buy whatever you want and save the shipping. You'll see some really good Foxes on display including possibly the largest collection of Fox long range guns at any event at any time. And last but probably best... you'll meet and rub elbows with some serious Fox nuts, and make contacts/networks that may pay out down the road. Those who've been into Foxes and other SxS's for a while, know that many of the good ones are moved privately amongst friends and they never hit the web sites. How many times has someone posted here... how do you guys find those guns?
We hope to see you at Hidden Hollow, June 1 to 3!
