Syracuse NY Gun Show Report
What recession? Huge crowds in Syracuse, couldn't walk the aisles. Met up with a few fellow Fox nuts including Silvers, Brian, Marshfellow and Jolly Bill. Not much good stuff in the Fox category, the normal Sterlys but nothing unusual. One first year C with scroll engraving in very used condition for $2600. The same guy had a Baltimore Arms B grade in very nice shape for $3600. Many Bakers I guess most didn't make it far from Batavia. Lots of field grade Elsies and a few Ithacas including a nice 10ga field with 32" bbls (PM me and I will give you the dealers name). One very nice 4E Flues Ithaca for $2300. Very few Parkers, I saw one very cool chrome plated Trojan
and a few Grade 2's in well used condition. Some good paper but nothing in the shotshell box realm for me. Lots of young folks and some of them were handling stuff like A5's, kinda nice to see. Craig

Re: Syracuse NY Gun Show Report
I agree with Craig on the so-called recession. I got to the Syracuse Show early and did some biz in central NY on the way back home. It was good to see fellow Fox comrades including Brian, we had PM'd but never met. For the first time EVER I saw a line of possibly 100 people waiting to get in, when I left the show at about 1 pm. The line has always been gone well before then. Recession? In addition to the stuff Craig mentioned there was a 20 gauge 30" Philly Deluxe SW extractor gun in outstanding condition maybe 98% overall including the color case. perfect screws, etc. The only negative was its original 6-slot Jostam that was squashed, as they get. Way steep at $4200. I worked on the dealer quite a bit and he dropped to $3800 rock bottom. Waving some cash money didn't help. I also saw a 30" Phila Arms Company barrel only/bright bores in pretty nice shape. 3 digit serial number. $195.00 minus 20% sale price on the tag, and I'm sure the gent would have come down from there. I tried to call a couple of friends on it, but had poor cell coverage in the hall although my texting was working OK. I'll have to ask friends to get their text enabled for info passing on gun show finds if nothing else. That Baltimore Arms was a nice gun but its barrel flats were freshly damasceened which didn't look right, to me at least. Also saw a 20 gauge Philly extractor SW 28" gun with that "extra engraving" that may be factory done as we've seen posted here from time to time. Nice gun with good screws but the buttstock looked refinished, an okay job but she was priced at $2295. Also saw a nice original Fox AE 16 full pg that a dealer friend had under the table, pretty nice gun to my eye, but I didn't need it and besides we were too far apart on price. Speaking of Ithacas, how about an honest 20 gauge NID 28" with cocking indicators, original gun that would satisfy all but nit pickers. Price $895 on the tag. For those into Savage 99's.... saw a screamer and I mean screamer 99EG in 22 Savage High Power, made without checkering; an extremely rare gun but with a $ 8K price tag to match.
I didn't buy a thing but as a gun guy I know says "yur not gonna find em if yur not out lookin". Silvers
