Re: The 1907-8 Catalog
Seemed a bit spendy for a 1907 in that condition to me. But, they don't come along every day. A bit less than the 1908 on Pat McKune's web site, but the 1908 seems rarer to me, and Pat's copy is in nicer condition.

Eightbore:
Bill: In generalities, only the mid 1907 catalog has a Fox signature fly page and is not numbered on the first or title
page. All later catalogs are numbered, ie : 1908/No.21,`1909/No.22, 1910/No. 23, 1911/No.24, and 1912/No. 25.
All are the same size and "Campfire" cover. Number 24 is the first entire line catalog to show the Sterlingworths; and
Number 25 is the first to show 16/20 gague guns.
My opinions: All six issues are so close to the same that for most Fox folks any one is a super addition to their
basic gun collection. There are, however, some around who simply want to own one of each. Its the old pride of ownership issue that causes people to buy something. Pat frequently has some excellent quality literature; one of the bigformat catalogs he has Is virtually new. The 1907 un-numbered version has been on ebay only twice in ten years that I have seen, and I have never seen one for sale elsewhere. So $400-$500-$600 was it too much for someone to pay? Do you have a kid in college/ do you do that $600 once in a lifetime available item? I thought it a bit high, but I understand why it happend. Enough. Ed

Re: The 1907-8 Catalog
The 1907 and 1908 (No. 21) that I have only contain the "List Prices" on the guns. One shows all the grades with the half-pistol grip, and the other shows the B-/BE- and D-/DE-Grades with straight grips. I don't have a 1909 (No. 22) or 1910 (No. 23), but by the 1911 (No. 24) the catalogue includes both the "List Prices"and the actual "Net Selling Prices". But, by then they also issued an "Export Edition" that contained only the "List Prices" and had the actual "Net Selling Prices" on a salmon colored insert sheet -- http://www.foxcollectors.com/ah_fox/con ... log_2.html

Re: The 1907-8 Catalog
Dave,
I have the domestic issues, except No. 22 and 23, also. I believe 22 and 23 may be more rare
even than 07. I personally have never seen either for real or for sale, and I don't know anyone
who has one--guess they do really exist !

Re: The 1907-8 Catalog
Back in the late 1980s I picked up a ratty No. 24 (1911) at the Waterfowl Festival at Easton, MD. The next year I got a really nice No. 24 at the MACA show. I let the information out that I had a No. 24 for sale, and a big collector of the time who had all the others beat me up unmercifully until I sold him the good one!! So, I have had a chance to see all of them.
