SW Skeet and Upland

Post by spyder »

First of all, Merry Christmas!!

Does the Sterlingworth S&U have any special stamp identifying it as such? Thanks again in advance.

No special S&U marking(s) per se. Straight grip and short trigger guard tang is what I expect to see.

The earliest 12-gauge Fox-Sterlingworth Skeet & Upland Game Guns I've recorded, in the 130xxx range, have the long back-strap straight-grip trigger guards of graded guns. All the later 12-gauges I've recorded in the 135xxx, 160xxx and 161xxx ranges I've recorded have the short back strap trigger guards as do all of the 16- and 20-gauge Fox-Sterlingworth Skeet & Upland Game Guns I've recorded.

I've recorded two in the 1306xx range. The earliest 20-gauge S&UGGs I've recorded are in the 2625xx range.
