You're welcome, Tom. Oh, I'm sorry, I'm not Dave or Mark. I have given them due credit, but they did not out Ansley's Parker. Someone else did that. Maybe we should review the thread. If this thread were not started, the identity of Ansley's Parker would be buried in the "Black Hole of Curatorship" for the next hundred years. I think you're enough of a researcher to realize that. I have known the identity of Ansley's Parker for years and decided to let the owner share in the information with no cost or obligation. Dave Noreen and Mark Conrad had absolutely nothing to do with sharing that information. Dave Noreen didn't have the information and Mark Conrad didn't have the information until I gave him the clues. Congratulations to him for sharing the order book entries after I rocked the boat. Mark is a great asset to the PGCA, but does not have the time to search out information such as the identity of the Ansley Fox Parker pigeon gun. I did that, and would appreciate it if the readers of this thread would recognize that. The PGCA is not generous with researchers unless they are connected with certain BOD members. Maybe after the Ansley Fox gun identification, this will change a bit.

Thank you Murph.....I hope that you find that gun....I do know that you do an amazing job ferreting out great provenance & history. I rarely visit the Parker site but I was interested to see that information posted here.

You are correct, had spyder not started the thread this is information I would have probably never run across.

Mr. Murphy,

Many thanks to you and all the others mentioned above for bringing the details of Ansley Fox's DH Parker pigeon gun to light - that story is way cool!

I also appreciate your previous help in providing historical details concerning consignees/gun shops that ordered some of my Fox guns. To me, the history of a particular gun is as interesting as the gun itself.

I have a couple of questions on those Parker order sheets shown in the link:

1) How do you tell the grade (DH of gun he sent for refurb; BE of the gun he cancelled order) on those sheets?

2) Are digital copies of those Parker order sheets, for a particular gun/serial number, provided to Parker collector members for a fee, like the AHFCA factory cards ?

Thanks again!

1. To tell the grade you have to go to the original J.P Collins order, and it is a matter of interpretation. On order number 72645 Collins ordered one 12-gauge, 30-inch Titanic barrel, hammerless, weight 7 3/4 pounds, with stock dimensions of 2 x 1 5/8 x 14 and the price was $100.00. The serial number of the gun that filled the order is scribbled in there, 88807. It is from the price that you get that it is a DH-Grade. You get the straight grip in that it doesn't say "P.G. Haml's". No safety, allowance $50, trigger pull 4 pounds, and $50 the net cost. Then below that is 2 3/4 chamber, and full (?) Silver Butt $4.

2. You can get a letter on a Parker from Mark through the PGCA. I'd be willing to bet that just like John Callahan, Mark would include a photocopy of the order if requested.
