Project guns

Post by whisperbow »

I suppose a lot of guys on this site are looking for project guns to restore. I am looking for a 16ga AH or Sterlingworth that is a real dog but solid. Any ideas beyond the normal like gun shows and the internet auctions?

One other avenue would be to just get the word out about what you are looking for. That would include people at work, sportsmans clubs any place you might shoot or have contact with any one who has guns. Also watch the paper for any local auctions , you're not likely to find an XE but Sterlingworths are out there.

I would also suggest looking at some of the larger local auctions. You would be suprised at what you might find. I purchased a really nice high condition 16 ga Sterlingworth for a friend of mine for $900. You just have to be at the right place at the right time.
