Intel I heard is that an early FE straight grip was scarfed up by one of the larger dealers. Supposedly the dealer got a commitment on the gun via a phone call shortly after buying it. There were some other details but don't know if they are 100% accurate, so that's all I can pass on. Silvers

I never heard about it the 3 1/2 days that I was there and I spoke with "the larger dealer & associates" each day.....musta been way under the radar.

Re: I heard a FE sold at Vegas, what's the deal??
I saw it late Thursday afternoon when Jim pulled it out of the case and sat it on the rack. It is very likely the first FE-Grade. I think it was 2283 or 2293? Friday morning after Jim & Jerry were all set up, Paul and I looked at it. I'd seen it at Las Vegas in 2003 and I think later at Sandanona, though I also saw 3000 at Sandanona. This early gun has very fine scroll, quite a bit of gold, but has a plainer checkering pattern than later F-/FE-grades. I think that is very likely correct for that early period. The gun has a recent leather covered pad, but still a pretty short length-of-pull. Jim said we could take some pictures of it if we liked, but it was sold, before that happened!!

I looked at it early Friday morning and was as Researcher said. Jim Tynne, Ivory Beads, had it.
Nice looking early F(E) with very fine engraving. Wished I had looked it over in more detail.
