Walnut provider to A. H. Fox?
Does researcher or anyone else know what vendors of the day provided European Walnut to Ansley in the day (early 1900's)? I'm talking the nice high graded stuff you find on B grades and up? PS. I've read some speculation that some of the walnut may have come from France and may specifically be from the Teyssier Company. Figure someone here might know.

Tom Kidd had a factory blank that was not turned pictured once in Double Gun Journal . I really miss his articles! He ought to write a Fox Book! Bobby

Those Foxes would be my wife of 47 years this coming Monday, and my two Labs; old timer catch'em if he can Ruddy, and my young female pointing Lab; Ice, who is by far my smartest and best Lab so far. She did a fantasitc job of pussy footing and pinning down a running grouse last Tuesday and of course the old Dutchman couldn't get there in time. Only remaining proof of the bird was one little girl lab locked up on the departure spot. No, she didn't bump the bird, as I got to see the whole show while I was trying to get down to the bench where the action was without falling. The big guy did let me get a good look at the towering getaway some 40 plus yards out. Getting too old, too slow, too sore, need a rotator cuff job, all joints hurt, and I can't see worth a darn either, but, I won't quit hunting those forest rockets until the old ticker is finished with its job. Ahhh, but I still get out, and even started to carry a 6 1/2 lb 12 gauge to swat at them. Hunt mostly alone these days so I don't screw up my friend's time afield. Just need one or two for the table these days anyway. I have some invoices for wood purchases around here somewhere, but they are sort of vague as to the actual seller/supplier as I remember. I have to look into the check registers/accounts payable ledgers to see if they note where the monies went. I also have some original A. H. Fox Gun Company factory blanks that are stamped with unknown supplier's marks??? Time to feed the dogs and sit down for Supper. All the Best to Everyone during the New Year.

Mr. Kidd,
Happy anniversary to you and Mrs. Kidd.
We miss your contributions to the Double Gun Journal. Maybe we can see some here once in a while. Like what you just posted. We would all like that.
Meanwhile, enjoy your dogs and the pursuit of the Willy Grouse and hang in there.
