newly aquired fox sterlingworth
my grandmother gave me my greatgrandfathers fox and was hoping to get some info on it. its a 20 ga ser#270132 barrels are stamped with special alloy-forged steel left barrel says savage arms corp, utica ny usa. was wandering about the chamber size, cannot find any marking to the effect whether its a 2 3/4 or 3" and if it was safe to shoot steel through barrels. any help would be appreciated thanks dan

Being that late a gun it may be 2 3/4 inch chambers but best to get them measured.I would never shoot steel shot or three inch magnum shells ! You can buy nice 2 1/2 inch low pressure shells from Polywad or RST. Bobby
