“ANSLEY H FOX CHAMPIONSHIP” WINNERS ANNOUNCED

The A H Fox Collectors Association is pleased to announce our 2010 Championship winners. This was our third annual Championship competition held September 24-25 in conjunction with the Vintage Cup at Pintail Point in Queenstown, MD. Our Championship was offered as a “Concurrent” with the Vintagers American Classic venue, for shooters using Fox shotguns. The event consisted of 10 shooting stations with 50 targets on Pintail Point’s Red Course. Some 145 shooters competed in the venue this year.

Frank Srebro “Silvers” of Pennsylvania bested all other Fox competitors with a score of 44/50 targets, and he was named our 2010 Ansley H Fox Champion. Frank fielded a 12 gauge Fox AE-grade shotgun. This is a third year win for Frank who also took the Ansley H Fox Champion title for the past two years.

Dan Barrett of Michigan was our event Runner-Up with a score of 40/50, and he received our 2010 “FE Grade Champion” award. Dan took third place in our competition last year. For 2010 he used a 12 gauge Fox Sterlingworth.

Special mention is made that George Griscom from New Jersey also achieved a score of 40/50; and the cut for Runner-Up was made by Pintail Point course management using established tie-breaker stations and competition scoring software. The first tie-breaker station was #5 where Dan Barrett prevailed.

In addition to the Trophy winners, the A H Fox Collectors awarded special recognition prizes to two shooters chosen by public draw from the third through eight highest Fox scores. Note that multiple entries were permitted.

3. George Griscom of NJ - 12 gauge Fox Sterlingworth
4. Daryl Corona of MD - 12 gauge Philadelphia Arms Co B-Grade
5. Paul Plunkett III of NJ - 16 gauge Fox Skeet & Upland
6. Daryl Corona of MD - 12 gauge Philadelphia Arms Co B-Grade
7. Tom Wyraz of NY - 12 gauge Fox HE/XE
8. Steve Cambria of CT - 12 gauge Fox AE

Daryl and Tom were picked for the special prizes.

Congratulations are sincerely extended to Frank and Dan for their excellent shooting! The A H Fox Collectors Association also offers warm “Thank You's” to all shooters who participated in this, our third year of friendly competition with Ansley Fox designed shotguns.

A picture of the Ansley H Fox Trophy presentation is attached here. Dan was not available by press time for a picture with his Runner-Up “FE Grade” Trophy.

Congrats "KERMIT", on another AHFCA Championship win. 44/50 was a damn fine score on what turned out to be, some very deceptive targets. Glad "Hot-STUFF" and I were with you, on the victory leg. It was nice to see someone in "the zone".....as the only one I entered, was marked "TWILIGHT"....LOL.

I'm convinced , it was all those vitamin- enriched, harticot verts, you feasted upon, on Friday eve. BTW-----all you DUBOIS -Boys, call 'em.....STRING BEANS!!!!!!! Still think you should have shot the FE with a pith helmet.....now that would have been a fitting tribute to TR and his francolin fowler!!!!-------

your Fox-brother in Arms,

TOOL
On the whole....I'd rather be in Philadelphia....

TOOl, that was a memorable meal in the St Michaels bistro, with the yummy harticot verts. Hey it must have taken you all of the six hour drive back home to think how you'd post that vignette with the dumb Pennsy guy who never took French. Next year when you're at the Hidden Hollow shootout we'll get a group of Fox comrades out for a nice meal, and we'll see how you handle the names of some eastern european delicacies. :?

Yeah, things just seemed to click when I was out on the course with my buds Toolman Steve and Foxfarm Don. This guy from somewhere east of DUE BOYS Pennsy thanks you for your kind words.

Just info for our members, our Fox CA resident French professor Toolman pronounces the DuBois PA town name quite a bit differently. He drives nearby it on biz and called me one time from DOOOO BWAAHHH :) Frank

This ol MS redneck has no idea what harticot verts are but you unenlightened gentlemen need to make a visit down south for some good homecookin.

We'll have some fresh greens with fatback, cheese grits, homemade cornbread and fried chitlins. I'll provide the chitlins and the stump......but you gotta sling your own.

Frank,
Wanted to know what you looked like, my eyes were on you and then fell quickly to the SxS you were holding. Good to put a face to some words exchanged, or who I was talking to. Congratulations on a job well done.
