Sporting Life May 2, 1914
Colonel Roosevelt’s trip up the Paraguay into the wilderness of Brazil is interesting to the sportsman and lover of outdoors. He is traveling a new country, where new and strange conditions are met with every hour. Probably no other feature connected with the trip required such careful thought and attention as did the question of proper firearms.
The party carried with them two Winchesters, two revolvers, and a Fox 12-gauge gun. This is the same Fox gun which Colonel Roosevelt carried with him in his African trip and which he says gave him such satisfactory service. It is interesting to note that this Fox gun has never been returned to the factory for repairing or overhauling of any sort.

It is interesting to note that a man of such wide experience in hunting and traveling as Col. Theodore Roosevelt, is placing his main reliance on a Fox 12-gauge shotgun on his trip through the wilds of South America.
This is the same gun he carried with him on his African trip.

There is a great article in the upcoming GARDEN & GUN magazine concerning TR's Fox. Go to www.gardenandgun.com to read a excerpt.
