Don't throw anything away!

Post by lee r moege »

Here are some pictures of my A grade 2 barrel set, WITH the 2 barrel leg of mutton case I fround buried in my "30 year pile" I don't even remember where or how I got it but in rummaging for something else I came across it and discovered it was for a 2 barrel set. To top it all off, it was set up for 28" and 30" barrels. Next step is to get it to Marvin Huey for a little TLC! Happy scrounging LeeImage

Lee,

Very nice two barrel set with a very hard to find leg of mutton two barrel case. And getting right up there serial number wise for an early A.

I also have an early A, SN 7983, which is simple and elegant. I've had the gun for 42 years. My first nice Fox that got me started.

I got a Callahan letter on it shortly after I got it and traced from the card to a hardware and sporting goods store in Newport, Rhoade Island in 1912. I was able to find a little bio on the company on the internet. I got the gun from Jim Supica before he went East to work for the NRA Museum. He told me he had had it so long he didn't remember where or when he got it. Regards! Lee.
