16 ga C Grade
Thought I would post a picture of a nice Fox 16 ga C grade, approx 1929-1930 vintage. Alot case colors remain, as well as bluing on the trigger guard. I will put a couple more pictures in the Members Forum also,

Re: 16 ga C Grade
saw your post over in the member section also but lead to a few questions...
you said this gun was late philly right? With a BTFE? That is pretty cool!!! Not many Philly BTFE? Does the shield with engraving show up on the card?
BEAUTIFUL gun with tons of condition!! Nice grab and neat story!!
Congrats

Re: 16 ga C Grade
The mystery of this fine old gun wont be cleared up soon. The card is missing, along with a few others that came immediately after. But I am thinking the BTFE is original. The gun has a couple Utica characteristics, but I havent seen too many Utica guns for close comparison; the #3 barrels are Philadelphia, and M/F chokes are 4" original. The shield is engraved with the owners initials, MPC. The original Silvers pad is melted down flat, but it still has the original black leather facing. Once i can get a servicable pad back on her, she will ready to shoot, Thanks, S
PS - I want to give credit to Berle Cheney of Kensington, MD for showing me some pointers on photographing fine old guns, and Eightbore for helping me evaluate this gun's originality, Thx gentlemen,

Re: 16 ga C Grade
it could be one of the guns which was assembled in Utica with Philadelphia barrels. if anyone has a letter on a graded 16 gauge with a S/N lower than this gun, that would tell the point of assembly and shipment. I dont have one.
I will try to post some pictures on the C Grade Pictures portion of the Forum. I would like to get the melted/mashed recoil pad replaced first, its kind of embarassing the way it is now, S

No need to be embarassed because some one else left a fine old gun standing in a closet for 40 years.NJdblgun wrote:I would like to get the melted/mashed recoil pad replaced first, its kind of embarassing the way it is now, S
