this came home last night

Post by thuddddddd »

Start of a new "custom" project. 30" 20ga sterly. Shootable #'s now. It's been opened to .007 and .015,chambers cut to 2 3/4, but I'll be shooting LP reloads out of it.
The plan is to it refinish the stock for this fall and get a restock going, using the pattern stock from my AE. Restock then figure out what I want for engraving...

Cool. Is that a blank of genuine French walnut?

I got to shoot it sat at the fox/parker debacle...... my shooting let the team down  Having said that, I started out shooting a wonderful little BE of tool's, in 12 ga. When I shouldered it I knew it didn't have nearly enough cast for my fat face...... The first few stations were embarrassing, so I figured what the heck, can't do any worse with a small bore with 3/4 0z lp hand loads..... I was pleasantly surprised...... I shoot it reasonable well.... getting more and more comfortable with it, culminating in a incredible 50+ yard shot at the final station, that I was able to repeat..... guns choked .005/.015........ I think I'm going to be really happy with it.....

Save that old stock for when you sell the gun to me. It fits me like it was made for me - what a nice 20!

i am through with checkering the stock and now trying to decide the pattern i want to put on the splinter forearm.I will try to get someone to post some pictures when i complete the job.The barrels need rebluing,i cut long forcing cones a couple weeks ago.The wood i used was locally grown American walnut with some fiddleback figure, not real fancy wood like your blank.Bobby

thudddddddddd I am going to dub that little twenty "The Little Bo Whoop" I saw first hand how far that gun can reach out and smack those targets on Sat up at Addieville. Those who would doubt that twenty bore could crush a target at 55 yards are sadly mistaken. What a gun!!!! Paul
